Welcome to Durham Area Youth

Durham Area Youth is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, established in March 2018, delivering inclusive, open-access youth provision across the villages surrounding Durham.

We work with young people aged 6–18 in West Rainton, Pittington, Sherburn Village, Sherburn Hill and Bournmoor, creating spaces where they are heard, valued and empowered to shape their own opportunities.

Guided by young people’s voices, we:

• Build trusted relationships that strengthen confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging
• Provide safe, engaging environments where young people can explore, learn and achieve
• Create enriching activities and targeted support at key stages of their development
• Enable young people to make positive change in their communities
